P&L Services Ltd. is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to third parties in ways other than those disclosed in this policy. P&L Services Ltd. collects information from our users at several different points on our websites.
Some areas of our site restrict access to online content. To gain entry a user must either complete a 2-week free trial registration form or subscribe to the online service. During subscription a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and e-mail address) for internal purposes. The Retail Radar section is free to everyone but also requires registration to view stories in full and leave your feedback.
We request information from the user on our subscription and event enquiry forms. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfil customer's requests. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user and resolve the problem.
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers; it will also be included in the ‘Profit & Loss – Media Pack’. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We would also share information when using a mailing house to ship magazines or a credit card processing company to charge users for goods and services.
If a user wishes to subscribe to our e-newsletter (Squawkbox) we ask for contact and delivery information such as name and e-mail address. All of these e-mail lists provide opt out facilities online and with each weekly edition. In some cases the user is asked to provide optional demographic and personal interest information that is used to keep our content as relevant as possible.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Cookies improve the usability of our website. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. Cookies are also used to enable people to login to protected areas of our website.
We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track a user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Advertisements and sponsor logos on our homepage are linked to the client’s related website. We may also use other links throughout the site to direct users to appropriate material elsewhere. Please be aware that P&L Services Ltd. is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.
From time to time our site requests information from users via surveys or voting forms (e.g. the recent Digital Markets Awards included an element of user voting). Participation in these surveys or polls is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name, e-mail address and company name), and demographic information (such as postcode). Contact information will be used to monitor the fairness of results, effectiveness of a particular survey and identify ways to improve our content.

The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment and continually maintained / updated by our qualified web technician to ensure no breaches occur. However no credit card details are online or on our server.
On our website new members receive a notification e-mail to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on new products, services, upcoming conferences and any special deals or promotions that we may be running. Where this is the case we present the option to not receive these types of communications. We also send out renewal notices to expiring users.
If a user's personally identifiable information changes or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavour to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can be done at the registration page or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Our site offers subscribers an account management facility enabling them to view and amend their: details, events and request an invoice for another year’s subscription. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via e-mail or phone.
On subscription forms we include a ‘Data Protection Notice’ which offers users the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site. Users who no longer wish to receive Squawkbox / conference marketing etc. may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to the unsubscribe link in the e-mail.
